The new Nissan Navara has been spied testing on the streets of Thailand, with the disguise doing little to cover up the changes coming to the popular pickup truck.
The most striking change on the new Navara, at least cosmetically, is the use of Nissan’s ‘V-Motion’ grille and boomerang headlights that can be seen behind the matt black covering. A much deeper grille with a single, bold surround, leads to LED running lights and indicators that wrap around the main headlight unit.
Whilst covered, we also expect to see a much sharper bumper, with vertical intakes above the fog light surround. Looking closely, these can just about be spied on the Navara photos.
In exclusive photos provided by Thai Car Inside, changes at the rear of the Navara appear to be less significant, with some new lights hidden behind the disguise. The rear bumper also incorporates a step, marking a return of the much-missed feature last seen on the previous generation model.
One thing not changing is the main body, which retains the same shape and details of the current model. Doors are an expensive item to retool, which explains why there are no changes being made here.
We wouldn’t expect much of a change inside, although expect a few new features to be added and some plastics to be made a little bit nicer.
The big changes will have to wait for the all-new model due in 2024 or thereabouts. For now, we’ll wait for the current model’s final facelift next year.
