Volkswagen Amarok Canyon V6 2019

Professional Pickup & 4×4 magazine can confirm that Volkswagen will be launching the special-edition VW Amarok Canyon V6 for the 2019 model year. The previous edition – launched in 2014 – was well-received in the UK, selling its 350 model allocation within six months.

In addition to the standard Trendline and Highline trim levels, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles in the UK is quite unusual in that it always offers a new special edition each time one runs out. From launch of the V6 in 2016, it was the ‘Aventura’ model (limited to 240 models in the UK), then it was the ‘Dark Label’ (limited to 200 customers) and next year will see the introduction of the ‘Canyon’.

The Canyon receives an exclusive ‘honey yellow’ paint scheme and, like the Aventura and Dark Label, will feature a number of distinctive styling cues like unique 18-inch alloy wheels, black sills, sports bar, B-pillars and door handles, and wheelarch extensions.

On the inside, the Canyon features orange stitching and detailing on the leather seats and gear stick, ‘Canyon’ floor mats and lumbar support. Specs have yet to be released on the new Canyon, but its expected that the Canyon will also receive a leather-trimmed steering wheel and satellite navigation on top of the already well-furnished Highline trim.

The Highline trim includes front and rear parking sensors, reversing camera, Bi-Xenon headlights with LED daytime running lights and a 6.3-inch touchscreen display with DAB radio, Bluetooth connectivity and voice commands however, it lacks electric seats and keyless entry and ignition.
