Volkswagen Amarok Aventura V6 Returns

The Volkswagen Amarok Aventura is available for a second time. The Aventura replaces the Dark Label as the current limited-edition model to sit above the Highline, but it is packed with a lot more extras and, crucially, comes with the spine-tingling 258hp/580Nm 3.0TDi V6 engine.

At any one time, Volkswagen offers one limited edition model. At the launch of the V6 Amarok in 2016, the Aventura was available and limited to 240 models, then it was the Dark Label (200 customers) and now it’s the return of the Aventura again.

Amarok Aventura: Adventurous Style

On the outside, Volkswagen has spiced things up with 20-inch ‘Talca’ alloy wheels, a body-coloured sports bar with Aventura badging, chrome-plated sidebars with step, and LED spotlighting. There is also under-body protection, electrically-folding mirrors and a load bed lining.

There are two exclusive colours on the Aventura; the metallic Peacock Green and matt Revenna Blue. For those that want to stand out from the crowd even more, matt colours are available with a 24% discount but still cost a hefty £2,385.

Amarok Aventura: Well-Furnished Interior

Compared with the Dark Label, the Volkswagen Amarok Aventura comes with many more creature comforts. The interior sports a soft Nappa leather upholstery, while the multi-function steering wheel is also leather-wrapped and fitted with paddle shifters as standard.

The ‘ergocomfort’ 14-way adjustable seat is, without doubt, the most comfortable on the market, and is also a standard feature on the Aventura. As with the Highline, both front seats are heated.

Infotainment is provided by the Discover Media Navigation system, which is part of a 6.3-inch touchscreen display. This also includes a DAB radio, Bluetooth, USB connectivity and steering wheel-mounted controls.

Amarok Aventura: Engine and Driveline

The most impressive feature of the Aventura model, however, can be found under the bonnet. Producing 258hp (up to 272hp with the overboost function) and delivering 580Nm between 1,400 and 3,000rpm, the 3.0TDi V6 engine on the Aventura is the most powerful on the market and achieves the 0-62mph sprint in just 7.5 seconds. It is hooked to the super-smooth 8-speed automatic transmission from ZF.

Amarok Aventura: Price and Availability

The Volkswagen Amarok Aventura is available to order now through VW’s 72-strong Van Centre network, priced from an eye-watering £39,960 plus VAT – a considerable increase to the Dark Label. Service intervals are set at every 25,000 miles or two years and the warranty is limited to three years or 100,000 miles.
