Nissan has released images of the 2021 Navara, a facelift of the existing truck that will see it take on a more aggressive style that matches its US counterparts. However, it’s confirmed that the UK won’t be getting this update.
Originally teased in shadow, just like the teaser from May this year, an image from Nissan Australia revealed a little more detail, especially when lightened in a photo editing package.
Now Nissan has released official pictures of the Navara, showing off its heavily revised front end and other detail changes. While the large chrome grille is the highlight, especially as it stretches up and over the leading edge of the bonnet, the quad-LED headlights with distinctive twin-blade daytime running lights will allow the new Navara to stand out from its competitors.
A second truck shows the Navara Pro-4X. With a matt black grille, this is an uprated model with rugged suspension that is unlikely to make it to the UK. However, Nissan’s association with Arctic Trucks is expected to continue, leading to another Navara AT32.
Potentially much more than a cosmetic facelift, there is talk that the modifications made by Daimler to create the Mercedes-Benz X-Class might make it onto the Navara. Already one of the better riding pickup trucks, this would enhance its on-road ability without any detriment to its workhorse status.
The 2021 Nissan Navara was revealed in full in Australia on 5 November 2020. Nissan UK confirmed on 24 February 2021 that the UK will not be taking the new model.
